Unreal Editor for Fortnite

What Type of Bug are you experiencing?

UI/Tools

Summary

Problem:
I am unable to load any of my existing projects, they get stuck on either 36% or 10%.
I am unable to create any new projects, they get stuck on 0%.
I have left it load for over an hour and they never progress.
When creating new projects, Unreal Revision Control states “Revision Control unavailable because of problem with Revision Control Server”. I am also unable to disable this as the checkbox can’t be interacted with.
This has started this week, I suspect since the most recent update.

Things I’ve Tried:
Restarted PC.
Verified UEFN game files.
Reinstalled UEFN.
Tried opening multiple different projects.
Disabled Windows firewall.
Disabled Windows Defender.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Start UEFN
  2. Attempt to create new project or load an existing project.

Expected Result

UEFN to finish loading the project.

Observed Result

Projects never load.

FIXED!

Attempt these at your own risk, but it fixed this issue for me.

  1. Exit UEFN and Epic Games Launcher.
  2. Browse to: C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\ .net
  3. Backup the “urc” folder to another location
  4. Delete the “urc” original folder
  5. Relaunch UEFN and everything working again.

I found the issue as everything pointed towards Unreal Revision Control being the issue, so I found the urc.exe file in C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64\

I ran that urc.exe to see what would happen and got the following message:

From reading that it sounded like something was corrupt in that urc folder, so deleting it and letting UEFN recreate it seemed to work.
