Steps to Reproduce
This issue occurs in an existing project. I have not reproduced it in a new project.
- Attempt to check in pending changes
- Confirm the submission.
- Check-in fails and error comes up in bottom right for 0.1 seconds.
- Error can be found in the logs
- Asset mentioned in log is not in the designated explorer folder (Empy Folder)
- Retry submission. Different missing external actor file will show up in log.
Logs are linked through the Reference ID. I can provide project details privately if required.
Expected Result
Pending changes are successfully checked in and a new revision is created.
Observed Result
Check-in fails with:
“rehashing commit: The system cannot find the file specified. (os error 2)”
Two consecutive attempts identified:
Content/ExternalActors/*********/B/98/H5O0TVOK3Z21J1Y9TL254R.uasset
Content/ExternalActors/*********/4/K8/3ENL5E9S40ZFG6PUA59R8Y.uasset
Both files are absent from disk. Lore.log shows these paths being staged, followed by “Merge metadata skipped due to missing ‘source’ node”, then failure when reading the file during merge_into.
Revision control connects successfully to main, but submission fails. Numerous “Tracking empty directory” messages follow.
Please advise how to recover while preserving unsubmitted work.
