[UMG] User created widget not updating until engine restart?

Epics, I understand you don’t care about your users, but wow, this is next level. This bug is very annoying, and makes working with widgets(Which are buggy system on itself) are huge pain in the back.

Still experiencing this in 5.0.2.

Still an issue.

Can confirm it’s still happening in 5.0.3

Same issue on 4.26.2

Still happening in 5.1

Select the widget you want to change from the top left palette section and right click on the old one and hit change in the replace option. It seems we need to set it manually but this way we add a new one without deleting the references. My English sucks, I hope it helped.

I would say this is a next best thing before they solve it but it is NOT a solution and here is why:

If you have public variables in your widget that you have setup beforehand they doing this “Replace With” thing will replace the widget, yes, but it will erase all your settings that you’ve made to the widget.

Anyway, thanks for the solution, really appreciate it.

I’m seeing this issue in 5.2 where colors aren’t changing on my UMG widget buttons in a large menu system until I do a full restart of the project. Did anyone actually open up a bug report on this for UE5?

Someone needs to make a reproducible example project for Epic to help fix it. This seems to happen on an overloaded widget.
