Ugly reflections

Hi the EU4 community

Small question ( I hope this sujet that was not addressed, I searched on the forum, I not found nothing), how to add steps to the reflections to increase quality ?

Thank you

-> I have found this, go directly edit a file , is the solution? Or is there another solution directly from the engine ? - After testing the proposed solution, it’s not fixed.

One solution ?

Thanks you and sorry for my bad english

For the floor I would use the new 2D planar reflections feature in 4.12

I also suggest to remove the refraction’s fresnel in your glass material setup so it doesn’t look messy when viewed at angle! Good luck.

Hello,

Thanks for the answers. Indeed, the reflections plane corresponds has what I want . By cons not one has control over the roughness , sh*t :frowning:

There will be roughness control in 4.13, which will probably come out in a month or two.

The reflections will look better once you get wheels on and fill in the grid, SSR is just particular bad with holes like those.

For the time being try to use a surface with a bit of roughness to hide the mediocre reflections, and try adding some reflection probes to see if they help.

Planar reflection actor has preintegrated roughness setting but it can only achieve roughness of 0.04.

That would be news to me =)

I could of sworn I read it on the forums somewhere last night, probably shouldn’t read the forums right before bed. :stuck_out_tongue:

Is there any changes to planar reflections planed in 4.13? I’m sure I saw something about it.

4.13 improvements are mentioned here:

I’m guessing you were thinking about “Fading out planar reflections based on roughness”

Yup, that was it, my bad.

Hello guys,

@ZacD Yes, i wait a update…

Wait and see.
