UEFN Live Session Freezes PC

Summary

If you open Discord prior to launching a session in UEFN the session will completely freeze my PC when loading; it crashes when it says “Downloading user settings”. I believe this has been happening since V33.20.

Steps to Reproduce

Opening UEFN on PC whilst having Discord open at the same time and starting a Live Session.

Expected Result

Join Live Session / PC doesn’t Freeze and can use other applications.

Observed Result

PC gets stuck on “Downloading User Settings” and can’t open other applications. Game completely freezes and opening Task Manager will freeze my PC instantly.

Additional Notes

I’m on windows 24H2 which is what most people who are experiencing this are on. If discord is not open at all the issue won’t happen. I’m not sure which application is causing the issue.

Most likely it’s the fact you upgraded to 24H2. Seems some games were affected by that. Maybe reverting the update will help solve your issue

I upgraded almost a month ago and didn’t have issues until that update, however downgrading will most likely fix it. An easier solution for me currently is just to use Discord through chrome to avoid problems
