UEFN Live Edit Phone Preview Bug – Object Placement Preview Stuck at Screen Center on All Maps

Summary

Hello,

I am experiencing a persistent issue with UEFN Live Edit that makes building extremely difficult.

When using the Creative Phone tool in Fortnite during a Live Edit session, the object preview (hologram) is stuck at a fixed position (usually near the center/side of the screen) instead of following the player’s aim or surface properly. The object can still be placed, but the preview does not move correctly, making precise placement almost impossible.

This issue occurs under all conditions:

On completely new/empty maps
On existing maps
After restarting UEFN and Fortnite
After verifying game files
With default settings (no custom changes)

Additionally:

My teammate is experiencing the exact same issue
The problem appeared suddenly and was not present before
It affects all projects, not just a specific one
It does not seem hardware-related

We have already tried:

Restarting both UEFN and Fortnite
Verifying game files through Epic Games Launcher
Resetting settings
Testing on multiple maps

None of these steps resolved the issue.

This appears to be a Live Edit / Creative Phone preview bug affecting object placement visualization.

Thank you in advance for your help.

UI/Tools

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open UEFN and launch a Live Edit session in Fortnite
  2. Join the session and equip the Creative Phone tool
  3. Select any object from the Creative inventory
  4. Try to move the object preview (hologram) around the map
  5. Observe that the preview does not follow the aim correctly and remains stuck in a fixed position (often near the center or offset on screen)
  6. Place the object – it places correctly, but the preview remains incorrect

This issue occurs on all maps, including newly created empty maps.

Expected Result

The object preview (hologram) should follow the player’s aim and surface correctly in real time, allowing accurate placement before confirming.

Observed Result

The object preview is stuck or offset and does not move correctly with the player’s aim, making it very difficult to place objects precisely. The actual placement still works, but the preview is visually incorrect.
