UEFN freezing

Every single time I right click a wall or any other asset in UEFN the editor freezes. I can still use other features on my PC such as Chrome. My drivers are up to date and I’ve removed and reinstalled the editor twice now. It’s still freezing. I spent $1,000 for a pc specifically to make maps in UEFN and it continues to freeze every time I try to use it

Considering your PC remains operational during the freeze, we can most likely rule out hardware or driver issues. The fact that the issue triggers when right-clicking elements in the scene, brought me to a similar, tough more specific case:

I’m having a strange issue where the editor freezes when I right click on certain assets. I have 5 thumbnails of png images that I can click on in the editor to open them up and inspect them in the editor, but if I try to right click on them the editor freezes for an indeterminate amount of time ( I’ve waited for over 10 minutes a few times) but finally abandoned that and I have been forced to close it every time. In short, the user was working with a shared server, and accessing properties of certain assets would cause the engire to search for a path, fail it to find, and get stuck. If this not present in your scenario, then I would suggest a full uninstall/reinstall of all Epic software from your system:

• First, uninstall the engine, launcher, asset packs, etc
• Next, open the registry directory HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Epic Games\Unreal Engine\Builds, and delete any build entries
• Finally, delete the folders %userprofile%\AppData\Local\UnrealEngine and %userprofile%\AppData\Local\UnrealHeaderTool
• After that, no elements related to UE should be left in your system
• Now, reinstall the epic launcher from scratch, and only add the latest version of the engine
• After the process is complete, test working with UEFN again
