UEFN Drop of Performance by 60%

Hey everyone,

I want to bring attention to a serious performance regression that has hit UEFN since the new season dropped. Honestly, the editor has become nearly impossible to work in, and from what I’m seeing in the community, I’m far from alone.

What’s happening:

●**~60% performance drop** — The editor is running dramatically slower than it did last season. Tasks that used to be smooth are now sluggish or straight-up unresponsive.

RAM usage hitting close to 100% — UEFN is consuming an absurd amount of memory, causing system slowdowns, freezes, and crashes even on mid-to-high spec machines.

Terrain editing is almost unusable — Working with terrain has become an absolute nightmare. Sculpting, painting, and even just navigating terrain causes severe lag and frequent editor hangs.

This started with the new season update — Multiple people have confirmed this was not an issue before the update, pointing clearly to a regression introduced in the latest patch.

This isn’t just a “my PC is old” situation. Creators on solid hardware are reporting the same thing. It’s heavily impacting the ability to actually build anything, especially larger or terrain-heavy maps.

Epic, we really need acknowledgement and a fix for this. UEFN has come such a long way and it’s frustrating to see a single update tank the workflow this badly. Please look into this as a priority — creators are losing hours of productivity every session right now.

If you’re experiencing this too, please reply below with:

→ Your specs (CPU, RAM, GPU)→ What specifically is laggy for you→ Whether terrain is the main culprit or if it’s general→ Approximate RAM % UEFN is using on your machine

The more people that report this, the harder it is to ignore.
