UEFN crashing or bluescreening my pc on launch

Hello,

recently I updated my windows and after the new fortnite season, I cannot launch UEFN. When I start UEFN, sometimes it instantly crashes, sometimes it goes to 73% going to the metahuman imports and crashes. Sometimes it bluescreens my pc. Then I get this crash error message

  • this is a side question but I have recently bought a new pc with the specs i9 14900k and 4090. However, I feel like UEFN is underperforming. It crashes very often and bluescreens my pc quite a bit(compared to my old pc), especially when using the landscape editor, or doing some heavy work. The content browser is also very laggy, freezing my screen every time i search something and my uefn freezes when I try and launch a session for minutes.

Is there a potential fix to this and why is this happening? I have tried changing the editor render mode and the graphics settings, but it will just crash the editor whilst im changing it so the settings always gets reverted. Sometimes it works but I still dont feel any difference. On my last pc which had a 2080, uefn was still smooth compared to my new pc.

Hello,

Your solution might involve updating your BIOS or under-volting your CPU.

Instability in modern high-end Intel CPUs seems to be known/common issue.

You can also find more info about your bluescreens in the Windows Event Log.
