UEFN crashes when shaders are done loading

Summary

This issue has been ocurring since the 32.00 update (as far as I’m aware) and has been causing one of my projects to significantly slow down the editor before triggering a “GPU Crash Dump” or giving me a text box with an error as well. Loading into the project while in PC Performance Mode preview seems to stop the crashing. It also seems to be one specific area of the map that upon being loaded causes the issue, as I can fly around fine until I reach this area, leading me to believe it might be one specific actor causing this although I’m not sure.

A friend of mine opened the same project in their own machine, however the issue persisted with the same behavior (Opened > Shaders load > Slow down > Crash).

I’ve tried many workarounds, including a full disk format but nothing has seemed to work. Currently I launch UEFN with the “-d3d11” command just in case, but it doesn’t seem to alter anything regarding this issue.

Steps to Reproduce

I have not been experiencing this issue anywhere else, so I order to reproduce the issue I’ve uploaded a copy of my project.

Download SpeedyEdits2Remake.zip - Google Drive and move the folder to where Fortnite Projects are being stored.

Launch UEFN and open the project with no preview mode.

Wait until all shaders are done loading.

Expected Result

Before, the project would open and run fine with no major performance issues.

Observed Result

Now the project crashes or slows down UEFN to the point of being unusable.

hi @GatoxGuz ,
There is an error when opening the project as shown in the project picture

Click yes, and the reloading takes place. This will take a long time, under 33.00,

The bad news is that this has crashed with the same error due to an asset, I will have to read through the error log. There is a problem as there are two error logs

The good news is the crash is at the bottom of the UEFN log.

Last time this was a Verse problem
and in the picture, the Verse version needs updating, but in this PC case. does cannot be a GPU problem because my graphics controller is an Intel HD controller NOT a Nvidia.

Your picture shows a very large texture , but we cannot run conform texture or fix Validation

@flak This is a new problem NOT the old DX11 and DX12.
