Hey everyone
I really need help with a serious issue that started after enabling Revision Control in version 8 of 8, didnt enable it for all versions but 8 in my UEFN project. Since then, I haven’t been able to open any version of my map — not even older ones (v1 through v8).
What’s happening?
UEFN opens, but crashes when loading the map
The crash started right after enabling Revision Control in version 8
Crash details:
Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000000000000008
I didn’t make any major changes to the landscape — it was working fine until Revision Control was activated
What I’ve tried:
Fully uninstalled and reinstalled UEFN
Deleted: Saved, Intermediate, DerivedDataCache, .urc, .urcignore
Cloned the project to a new folder – same issue
Renamed .umap files – still crashes
Tried launching in Safe Mode – still crashes
Either Revision Control locked or corrupted something,
Or there’s a hidden issue with a landscape asset that now breaks the load process

Steps to Reproduce
- Open my UEFN project normally (worked fine before)
- In version 8, enable Revision Control via the top toolbar
- Save project and close UEFN
- Reopen the project or try to open any other saved version (v1–v8)
- UEFN crashes during map load
Expected Result
UEFN should open the map normally, with or without Revision Control enabled.
Observed Result
UEFN crashes during the map loading process with the following error:
“Waiting for landscape texture resource”
Crash log shows:
Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000000000000008
I cannot open any version of the project anymore (v1 to v8), even backups or autosaves.
The crash started immediately after activating Revision Control.
