When attempting to launch a session in UEFN, 90% of the time, Fortnite doesn’t load at all, and the editor remains stuck in a non-interactive state, with the “Session Loading…” message continuing to display in place of the “Launch Session” button.
Repro’d with fresh project. No errors. No errors in logs either. The only thing that looks a little suspicious is
LogHttp: Warning: Retry 1 on https://https://fortnitecontent-website-prod07.ol.epicgames.com/content/api/pages//content/api/pages/fortnite-editor/
Is there anything else I could try? Have tried multiple reboots, killing all related processes, etc. Very frustrating because it’s clearly impossible to iterate like this…
I know this is from a while ago but I was having a similar problem to where it’d just refuse to load into a test session, and would sometimes just put me in the main menu if it opened without crashing in the first place.
I found a workaround where you have to open FortNite separately to UEFN and have it running. Then, when you click to launch a test session within UEFN, it doesn’t have to try and load the entire game in, instead it just moves you onto your islands test server. Just remember to not close FortNite if you are going to need to keep testing it, you’ll have to just keep it running and push the changes if you edit anything in UEFN or it’ll need to be manually relaunched separately again.
For me this works, so I hope it helps you too if you’re still having issues with it.
