UE5 Screen Tearing in preview

I’m not sure if I’m the only one, but I’m seeing a huge amount of screen tear with the engine preview. Just a standard third person template with a small blank terrain. set to open in its own window at a 4k res on epic settings. The screen tearing is unbearable. Is this a problem with Ray Tracing being enabled when I created the project? For some reason I feel like around 4.23 - 4.25 I had this problem but then I fixed it on an older project or when the engine updated it fixed itself. Anyone else having screen tear issues? Maybe my observations are wrong. I don’t know.

I’m seeing it too on my new rig, but I wasn’t on my old set up. With me I’m pretty sure the issue is I need a new monitor. I don’t think this is really a UE5 issue, but I won’t know for sure until my new monitor comes in.

I had the same problem

How did you fix it?

Just getting started here. I also noticed excessive screen tearing on my new map. I’m using ray tracing on a 63x63 landscape with an importance volume to minimize computation. I tired a few things, including setting vSync to true in GameUserSettings.ini (not sure that has any effect on the play editor preview). I also tried building the levels to no avail. Any advice?

This may help. Turning on vSync for the editor (r.vsyncEditor = 1) in the command console solved the tearing issue.
