UE5 - Refraction not working when used with Niagara

hello! I’m having trouble getting refraction to show up on my niagara particles. Is this something that’s not yet supported in UE5?

In this example the same material instance is used on a mesh and in with the niagara system. I cranked the IoR way up so you can see the difference. Has anyone else had issues with this in the past?

so interesting finding - if I set my particles to velocity aligned, the refraction shows up. I think I should report of bug.

i found out how to fix this - if you set the Spherical Normals to true in the shader, it resolves the issue. Still feels like a bug though.

Looks like a bug to me. Floggins, did you reported it? At least Niagara needs a proper documentation explaining why it works like that if it’s not a bug.
And thanks for the workarounds!

I did log a bug, but like the other bugs I’ve logged in the past, Epic does not seem to confirm at all if they even received the bug logging or not. So for all I know they didn’t get it and we’ll be waiting forever.
