ue5 crashes when loading projects from an ssd drive

I recently bought a 1tb ssd to put some of my ue5 files on it because my computer doesn’t have that much free space. I moved some files over, but when I try to open them they crash, giving me an error that said something like filename too long could not convert. When I moved the project back to its original location it ran fine. same thing with any blank 3rd person, first person of vehicle project template. the only project that loads from the ssd is a blank project template. I tried enabling long filenames, deleting the intermediate folder and a few other things I saw online, nothing worked. Any suggestions?

What’s your folder structure on the new drive? Do you have everything in the top folder, or do you have a long folder path before getting to the projects?

Do check if the file system on SSD and the original location is same. I’m using NTFS filesystem. So I’m guessing the filesystem on your SSD might be something else like FAT.
Format your SSD with NTFS and try again.

I am using a mac, macs can only read, not write on NTFS formatted disks
