Hello, I transferred my project to Unreal Engine 5.5. While everything was progressing smoothly, I noticed that the host couldn’t see other players’ usernames in the game. Each character has a widget, and the screen setting is selected. When I checked from the clients, everyone can see each other’s usernames. When I looked again in 5.4, I realized the issue stems from 5.5. There’s also one other person on the forum mentioning this issue, but they haven’t found a solution yet either.
Hi ! I’m one of the 2 questions you mentioned
I think it’s gotta be a bug in UE 5.5, I reported it to Epic Games waiting for an answer, hopefully.
Sadly, I didn’t find any workaroud yet; tho I’m happy to see i’m not the only one affected by it, it means the problem doesn’t come from our projects but from the engine version itself.
I looked through the release notes and saw that they did some things with split screen widget components so it maybe bugged the screen space widget components in multiplayer.
If I have more information about it later, I’ll come update you !
