UE5.4 cannot render water bodies that come with the software itself

As shown in the picture, I followed the tutorial to create a scene of lake water, but when I upgraded the project to version 5.4, the software’s built-in plugin could not render the water. Version 5.3 was good. What is the reason for this? Is there any solution? The real-time display of water bodies in the 5.4 version window is also not very accurate, and the reflection is very poor.

Hey @michaellee1982 I have exactly the same issue here, did you manage to fix it? Thank you

I suggest not to upgrade the engine while working on the project.

Sorry,I have asked many UE experts, but none of them have given me a solution. I can only replace it with water materials, or go back to version 5.3.2.

It seems like if the project is transferred from an earlier version doesn’t render ok, but created in 5.4 it does. Also looking for solution around so will post if something comes.

Thanks for the reply, I’ll see if it can be re-created!

When you clicked on the water body I think you can see the spline points. note the locations of the all splines seperately and add the water body again and create the the spline points. in newer 5.4. version adding the water body again worked for me.
