UE5.2 Lumen has an issue with Translucent Blend mode and two sided foliage.

I have noticed since moving to 5.2 that anytime I try to use Translucent Blend mode and two sided foliage with Hardware Lumen, the resulting material becomes completely white compared to 5.1 where everything looks correct.

I am using an RTX 2080 Laptop. I am not sure what might be causing this issue, whether its a unreal engine issue or a gpu problem.

Anybody experiencing this as well? Will appreciate any help I can get.

I do have a similar issue with Masked & Two Sided Foliage.


Are you experiencing kind of the same thing ?

Yeah, I have the same issue with Masked and two sided foliage too. If Specular is at 0.5, the whole mesh becomes whitish in color.

I haven’t found what’s causing the issue or how to solve it. What I just do is reduce the specular value to a very small number for now. :slightly_smiling_face:
