guys i have the same problem on HP laptop
I ran the verifier and nothing I installed the unreal engine and re verified it and it caught something and installed it then it loaded fine for me.
yes, i tried contacting them 25 hours ago but they still havent responded. I think if enough people contact them about the same issue they might listen
Im pretty sure that this issue is caused by bad optimisation by epic games when they launched the new update. There is no fix until epic releases a patch for this.

you do the verify a second time after the install of the engine?
I verified before downloading the unreal engine, then I downloaded and installed unreal engine and then verified fortnite again and it is still coming up with the crash message.
