UE4.27 Stutters on the M5

I got the Macbook pro M5 recently and I’ve been using Unreal Engine(Both UE4 & UE5) and I’ve never had any stuttering problems.

When I first opened the engine it was stuttering but I managed to fix that by disabling a plugin called “UDP messaging”

Now I only noticed this while using both Blender and UE4 when I switch to Blender to work on a model and switch back after like 1-3 minutes the engine freezes for couple of secs then starts stuttering like around every sec for another sec. For me it seems like 1 second the engine runs perfectly the next it freezes.

Does anybody know the solution?

Hello @arts.x ,

I don’t have a MacBook Pro M5, but I did some research and found a few things that might help resolve the issue.

One of the most common solutions, and the one that worked for many users, is exactly what you already did: disabling the “UDP Messaging” plugin. In addition to that, you could also try disabling the Telemetry plugin, as some users reported improvements after doing so.

Another thing you could try is adjusting the Editor Scalability Settings, as this has helped improve editor stability in some cases.

You could also try verifying the project or running it as an administrator. It might be worth a try, as it has helped in some cases.

Finally, I found a few posts that might be useful as a reference or provide other possible solutions to the problem.

Hope it helps!
