Just wanted to chime in to say that this issue also happens in packaged builds. The fix of resizing the viewport in editor mentioned above works for editor sessions, but for packaged games, the issue requires restarting the game, so the impact of this issue is significant. Hoping it can be solved sooner rather than later.
It should be fixed in the next release (5.7.2).
Could you confirm if it was fixed in 5.7.2? I’m in the process of testing it myself, but I scanned the list of fixes and I couldn’t find any reference to this, so an official confirmation would be appreciated.
Hmm, I see that fix submitted to 5.7.2. No idea why it’s not on the list though.
After some testing, it seems like the blue artifacts still appear for a brief moment in some situations when in the editor. For example, sometimes, when loading the editor startup map, the blue artifacts may briefly flash for a handful of seconds before disappearing. I didn’t see the artifacts appear again on packaged builds, although I didn’t test extensively. Is this expected?
It’s hard to say, as we don’t have a consistent repro for this bug. We also have a second fix for a similar issue, which is scheduled for 5.7.3, so maybe you will need that too.
I see. It is a bit unfortunate, because the impact of this one is considerable. May I ask what that second issue is and how certain you are that it’ll fix the issue? It’d be useful to know that in order to assess whether I need to drop Megalights from my project.
Edit: so far, since transitioning to 5.7.2, I haven’t seen this issue popping up in packaged builds, but I’m a bit uncertain since my testing cannot be very extensive.
Second issue was discovered in Twinmotion. It was causing vertical gray lines in Lumen due to a bug in new shared code between MegaLights and Lumen responsible for denoising. So that could also cause some line artifacts in MegaLights, but hard to really say without a repro.
Ok, I understand, thank you for letting us know. For what it’s worth, I think that the issue no longer shows up in packaged builds, just on the editor in certain circumstances.
