I’m using the orthographic camera in UE 5.3.2. When trying to light my scene, I notice I’m getting some strange shading artifacts that seem to happen along planes perpendicular to the camera. I’ve attached a video of a scene lit only by a SkyLight, but the same happens if I use a few directional lights. Weird dark lines/spots start showing up, especially when the character moves behind a mesh. Disabling cast shadows in the SkyLight doesn’t have any impact. If I increase the camera’s spring arm length by enough, all shadows disappear, including the undesirable artifacts. However I would prefer having some light-based shading in the scene.
I’m aware that the orthographic camera is still experimental at the moment, but I’m hoping someone might know of a solution to this problem.
