4.5GB with a completely empty brand new map, 6.7GB with the 4K terrain hight map, with an 8GB card i have 1GB left to build the level.
Why is it using 4.5GB for apparently nothing? or if it is something what is it and how can i disable it?
Thanks

I fixed my memory issues too, today. You can disable Virtual Shadows (Beta). On a template map they take 1 GB currently and probably some more for UAVs. If you hit performance penalties with normal shadow maps and cascades on terrain or foliage you have the option to raytrace the shadows if you have the hardware for it. I dunno the shadow penalty for terrain and foliage, yet tho. Atleast it does not allocate any vram for it. I advice not to disable lumen. It taken a good amount of vram, but you need it for reflections and proper illumination. I got the footprint on the template or in general down to 3.low with full raytracing, lumen and screenpercentage. dlss does itβs magic too if you wanna consider that. screen percentage savings are not that great, but it can help fix performance penalties, if you hit them.
Thanks, Turning off Virtual Shadows has given me back about 500MB, Lumin gives me back another 500MB but iβm not going to disable that, i can mess about with RayTracing, i have an RTX 2070 Super, not great for RT but iβll see what i can do.
Thanks again.
If anyone els has any suggestions please let me know
