I am trying to make BP from a static mesh. So whenever I try creating the subclass, UE editor get freeze. I have tried deleting binaries, intermediate and saved folder and also verified the engine, it is still freezing.

To get the ball rolling, does the editor crash? Id so can you share any crash logs you have associated with the crash? Why are you making a child of an SM blueprint? Can you provide screenshots of what you are seeing?
Any additional information and specifics you provide can go a long way in solving your problem!

There seems to be bug in the engine, basically I selected Static Mesh from the view port and click on the “Convert this actor into reusable blueprint class that can have script behaviour” from the Details Pane section. This was causing engine to get freeze, it does not crash. The engine gets stuck, it doesnt close or respond to click or input. There is no output or log, it is just frozen.
Although if I normally create a BP class, editor is working fine.
I wanted to program that SM, so I am trying to create BP that have that static mesh as parent.
My Machine Config is :-
Processor = AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX
RAM = 16GB
Graphics Card = NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060

That is quite odd. Are you using 5.1? How complicated is your mesh(es) that you are attempting to turn into a blueprint? Is it only that mesh or do all actors in scene cause this issue?
Have you tried verifying your installation of UE to see if that fixes the issue?

I tried verifying as well as reinstalling the engine and the problem still persists.
I imported the mesh from marketplace, it is a simple wall.

Would you mind sharing a screen of the asset in question? Have you tied pressing the button via the top toolbar? If there is more complex scripts or blueprints in your scene it may be taking a while to prepare the asset.
I can confirm that this happens to be as well on UE5.2, when trying to create the child subclass by using the button in the details tab. The button in the top toolbar works fine. It does seem to be a problem of the engine freezing, since it freezes the scene when opening the new window for creating the subclass, and the new window just doesn’t appear and the engine becomes unresponsive

I also have the same problem in 5.3, anyone figured out how to solve it?
I had the same problem, but it was because I was using 2 monitors.
The blueprint child class was created, but the blueprint editor window appeared off screen, so I thought my Editor froze but it didn’t.
So, I just moved the Unreal Editor to the left monitor and the Blueprint editor window appears on the right monitor.
When I use a single monitor everything works as expected.
Im having the same trouble every time i make a BP subclass the UE editor freezes, theres no errors i cant even close the window , in on 5.3.2
