UDIMs not working in Unreal 5

I am having trouble getting UDIMs to work consistently in unreal 5. They work fine in a new project, but when working on my main project, they occasionally will go blank and turn into a solid color when I view them or try to import new ones. Once they stop working, all future imports look like this where they are just a solid color (sampled from the texture file).

any help would be appreciated.

I have the same issue.

I have the same issue in 5.3

4 4k textures, 2x2 but it comes in at 8192 x 45k… :confounded: I spent a decent amount of time looking into what I was doing and it turns out to be the app. :rage:

Ty my mind, something likes, well documented, right up there with this is how-you-wanna-VT, is like opening-a file.

Really Epic?

SAME textures work great as a single line, eg: 1001 → 1004.

I wanted to try baking out some landscape textures to run some comparative performance tests against a dynamic RVT (I have much that won’t need to change over time, so bake, right?) but c’est la vie. I assume it might, possibly be somewhat likely to be more performant, but pfffft how am I to know?

EDIT: to note, the areas that have texture do render, but then there are large empty portions…

EDIT 2, in case anyone from Epic sees this but I made a fresh empty project and was able to import. But while I can move forward we really really shouldn’t be here talking about this kind of functionality…

EDIT3: NOPE!! Cannot use the successfully-imported content into the current project so it’s a blocker. Great. So if I want to import textures I need to migrate ALL my content to a new project???
