Summary

The U.F.O. vehicle (or flying saucer) has a significant issue: when your pawn character takes control of the vehicle, the character is twisted into bizarre shapes. I believe the problem is with bone targeting. This effect is generally difficult to see with the third person camera, however, once you notice it, it becomes VERY obvious. I wanted to use the U.F.O. in a UEFN experience I am developing.

Steps to Reproduce

Have your player character take control of the U.F.O. by pressing ‘X’ – then look closely at the character in the cockpit.

Expected Result

The expected behavior would be to see the character sitting in the pilot seat, in a natural position.

Observed Result

The character is twisted into a pretzel. See attached screenshot.

I’m using a Windows 11 PC, with an I-9 processor and a NVIDIA 4090 graphics card
