Twinmotion Crashes

When rendering animation. Also, does Twinmotion not save backups like UE4?

Twinmotion is a GPU based software. Your rendering requires probably too much than your GPU allows.

Twinmotion also has an auto-save option. You can activate it from the Preference.

If you have any other questions about Twinmotion, feel free to open a discussion at Twinmotion community page: https://twinmotionhelp.epicgames.com/s/

Riddle me this…why are these options not default? I can export animation when setting to png stills but when set to mpeg it crashes. All my machines have gtx 1080s so the issue is not my hardware. Must be a bug.

It’s definitely not normal to crash on video export. We tested the export from our side, all works. Which Windows version are you working on? I suggest you open a discussion at Twinmotion support page so TM dev would have access to it too. Twinmotion

Crash during delete action, update object file

Hi, I have to work on a huge file, with many components. (4.44g) First, is it possible after scaling the project to update the modified component?
I have several crashes when I delete component to replace it after with a good one!

thank’s every one

Mine is crashing every time I try to export the animation. Not working at all. Even on a 30 second, 3 clip video.

Not sure what could be the cause but i would start a case with epic in the twin-motion community.

Hello.

Your issue may be better served by posting on the official Twinmotion support site - https://twinmotionhelp.epicgames.com/s/
You can either submit a question to Epic, or post on the discussion board there.

Cheers

i have been working on scene for hours and it occasionally crashed, but i was allowed to poen it again. After 5 times it crashed, i could not open the scene again. I am able to creat a new sene and also to open the demo scene but i can;t open me latest scene because the system automaticly crashes. is there any chance of recovering my work?

I’m actually having the same issue on my end. I’ve been playing with the trial and it crashed a couple of times (I didn’t count but it was less than 5). I was able to re-open the project file every time except for this morning. I’m hoping to be able to recover my work, though it’s not the end of the world.

I was in the middle of doing land sculpting and vegetation when everything crashed.

Same issue here, lost a few days of work because of this. Unable to open Twinmotion File I had been working on and had been saving and opening without issue until just now. Merging into new file also results into Twinmotion crashing. Using Twinmotion 2020.1 Trial. This is horrible. I hope Epic support is picking up on this, how to reach support for this?

Hi, In my case TM crashed when painting vegetation, file got permanently corrupted and not possible to reopen or merge into new file! GTX 1070 GPU. not the best in the market longer, but not low-end neither … lots of hours of work lost ! cmon this has to have any solution, I cannot make incremental save of file every 5 minutes ! help please !

i have the same issue, and the incremental saving is not a solution, when twinmotion crash, corrupt all the files, i really dont know hwaut van i do (versdion 2020.1), i need help!

I have a GTX 1080ti card and my renderings are always crashing. I have to restart and restart hoping to get lucky to get a single render. I am rendering 4500 x 1600 png images.

同样是文件崩溃,还没有解决方法。

hi , how can i export Mpeg without a title on it for twinmotion (twinmotion 2019)?
thanks

At least you people can use the app at all…

I have several TM files that I have created on a different computer and opening them on my MacPro is a No Go.
I have a Mac Pro with a **GTX 1080Ti **and Twinmotion won’t let me turn the camera in any direction once I open a file of any size.

I open Twinmotion 2020.1.2 and literally “turn the camera to the side” and then I get an instant Hard Crash…
(No Power - MacPro dead - only way to power up is to unplug the power cord and wait 30 sec. (SMC reset)

Mac:
MacPro 5,1
macOS High Sierra 10.13.6
GPU: GTX 1080Ti
CPU: 2 x 3.46 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
RAM: 48GB

I run Cinema 4D, After Effects, Archicad etc. - No problems, ever.

It’s true that my GPU is a very powerful card - but none of my other apps including very CPU/GPU intensive apps running concurrently have ever crashed my MacPro.
Only TM does this - so very odd…

What about this?
I wonder if it has to do with macOS High Sierra?
I also have a very slow iMac running macOS Mojave 10.14.6. and it runs Twinmotion 2020.1.2 just fine. (albeit Very slowly)

  • 2015 iMac - only 2GB Video and an i5 cpu.

Any thoughts?

Twinmotion 2019 to the rescue…!

OK - It’s something to do with Twinmotion 2020.
Out of desperation I ended up opening up my copy of Twinmotion 2019 and Viola…! No crash!!!

I even created a 13.78GB TM scene in 2019 and no issues whatsoever…!
I imported several Huge FBX files to propagate the scene just Knowing they would crash my Mac.
Nope. Everything is working great and smoothly.

It’s TM 2020 that’s crashing my machine.

Again:
MacPro 5,1
macOS High Sierra 10.13.6
GPU: GTX 1080Ti
CPU: 2 x 3.46 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
RAM: 48GB

Twinmotion 2019.6.6618 - Works great
Twinmotion 2020.1.2 - Hard Crash

Something happened from 2019 to 2020 to make TM completely unstable on my machine. :-/
