Are there tutorials for rendering camera views to textures? I wish to create rear-view mirrors for vehicles. I tried to search this web site for tutorials for rendering camera views to textures and checking out Blueprint Office that have security cameras and monitors.
Look into Scene Capture 2D component, and Render Target texture. You’ll place the scene capture 2d in front of your mirror, plug a render target texture to it, create a material for that render target and then use that material for the mirror.
Perfect thanks for pointing it out.
It’s a fairly old technique that really does stand the test of time, however I couldn’t find anything via Google about it.
here’s a video tutorial.
adding some keywords so it comes up.
Cast camera to mesh, Viewport casting, cast camera to texture, view camera on wall, mirror material with camera.
