I have Unreal Engine 5.5.4 and I have Orient Rotation to Movement checked but my character isn’t rotating properly. Can someone help?
I don’t even know where to find “Use controller Rotation Yaw.” Where did you find it? I’m using Unreal Engine 5.5.4.
Open the BP_Bot (Self) and open the details. If you type in “yaw” it should be under Pawn-section.
I have Unreal Engine 5.5.4. The walking animation is not continuous for me. It doesn’t restart from the beginning. Can someone help me?
Way too fast paced in my opinion. This is not really a beginners Course. The beginning of the Tutorial was great but going half trough its just hard to follow. We click here and there, use this node, go to construction script and the magic happens. But why?
Of course its a feature Overview, but not really a beginners Tutorial.
After seeing this I have more Questions then before
Same experience for me, going too quick, some files being used for objects, foliage, or rocks I did not have which made matters worse, sometimes the entire scene would freeze up. Unfortunately the software is not what I would call “intuitive” and it is indeed a steep learning curve to get this stuff down. Unsure there are any better videos or more beginner geared so to speak. The instructor does know what he is doing, unfortunately I do not (joke) so that is the big problem, trying to soak it all up. I gave up today for two main reasons, learning the software would be a serious grind and then creating something would take probably much longer, so those two combined sunk me. I may go back to it all if I can find a new resource or different video to learn it. As of now, putting it aside.
Thanks! Solved it for me!
After consuming an Orb my AI Bot returns to 0,0,0. How can I get it to stay put?
I can open the door but can’t go through. How do I fix this?
Thanks a lot
I wish there was a 0.75 speed option, the pacing is a bit fast and I had to pause and rewind several times to catch the details. Still, great tutorial! I followed along in UE 5.5.4 and everything worked perfectly. Thanks a lot!
I had the same problem, but I only noticed that the animation was getting stuck, and your question actually helped me realize what the problem was. Since the problem is that the animation isn’t looping, what you need to do is click the animation node itself (the “Sequence Player” node) on the AnimGraph and then check the “Loop Animation” option in the Details pane. In this case, you would find the idle and run animation nodes through “Idle” and “Walk/Run” on the ABP_Bot > AnimGraph > Locomotion page. 5.5.4
This is great intro material. Would be perfect if updated to enhanced input, but still it’s great. I’ve just went through 60% of 40h+ of 5 star rated, paid blueprint course…and this covers more in just 1h.
What is going on with game dev tutorials? This is not how you teach beginners stuff. 1h30m video where the presenter flies through things, is talking about one topic while clicking on other settings… This is nuts but par for the course when it comes to learning game dev. I guess their job title isn’t teacher after all.
