I’m trying to recreate a pattern from Nier: Automata (Opera boss) using a Niagara System for the FX.
Here’s the pattern:
What I’m really struggling to do is the smokey part of it, and I really don’t know where to start.
It feels like it’s just a couple of “particles” spawned in a non uniform way along a circle, with infinite lifetime, but like very elongated? So like a ribbon? but then it doesn’t really have its thickness anymore.
Also it’s curling around the circle, but not moving horizontaly, kinda like its glued to the circle at some points, while the rest is animated like the smoke is trying to escape a bit.
Does anyone have tips on how to achieve this effect in Niagara? Any advice on particle setup or material would be greatly appreciated!
