a bit of a newbie question. I’m trying to learn how to make my own Normal map sphere. In UE4 it’d be under Engine Content> SphereRenderNormal Map. I thought I’d use Photoshop to make it, first of all is that wrong? Do I need to actually light a sphere in Max or Maya?
In case doing it in photoshop is not wrong: I create a sphere mask, apply a linear gradient and there is red and green channel. But then the blue channel… I’m not sure how to go make it. It doesn’t go linearly from 0 to 1 like the rest of the channels, instead it seems to get cut off around 60% brightness. I’m a bit confused about the blue channel and I was wondering if somebody could help me out.
