Pure trueSky Unreal Engine branch (4.19) builds with no errors but the editior works incorrectly and the sky is black. I emailed trueSky creators (contact@simul.co) but unfortunately got no reply.
Ran Setup.bat and GenerateProjectFiles.bat, then installed trueSky binaries using the .exe-installer (https://simul.co/download/)
Built UE4.sln in Development Editor Win64 configuration, no errors were shown.
Started debugging UE4 Editor. The editor loaded “choose project” screen, I’ve chosen a new blank one (it doesn’t matter). After that I got “unhandled exception” error:
By the way, the username and licence strings are not sensitive to what I’m typing in. No matter what I type, I can type a complete garbage, it says “OK”.
Finally, when I close the editor it closes and shows this:
So if anyone has encountered with this issue I would be grateful to find a way to fix this. Any help/piece of advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi, it says you have to copy/paste files in case you’re using the binary distribution of UE. I’m using engine which is being built from source code. Therefore according to your link I must rebuild UE4.sln in Development configuration. So I’ve done it and ended up with the same issue. I’ve got “unhandled exception” error and the sky is still black.
Thanks for reply but unfortunately your solution doesn’t work.
If someone encountered this issue I have bad news for you. Basically, according to what creator of trueSky said there are incorrect dll’s included to plugin which doesn’t work in 4.19 Engine built from source files. A few months ago he told me the dll’s will be released soon but they are still not ready. No info about when the issue will be fixed.
However, trueSky works fine with a binary distribution of UE4. I’ve tested the plugin in 4.18 and 4.19.
