Trouble with IK foot placement

I tried setting up the default character “herotpp” with IK foot placement, following the tutorial and content examples, and it just won’t work. The character either ends up ignoring the raytrace hits, b-u-n-n-y(this is censored? why) hopping with both feet stuck together at the root joint, or walking sideways: depending on which foot joint I select. I double checked everything and it’s all set up exactly how it is in the content example.

Is there any more complete documentation on this? The tutorial seems half finished, I think there are rig set up requirements that aren’t explained.

Also just a note, you can’t search this forum for “ik” if you put it in alone it says it’s “too common” and if you put it with another word it just removes it and leaves the other word. Makes it kind of hard to find info. I searched answerhub but it was all pre-release topics about a plugin that I also can’t find any info on.

This engine is great but I can’t wait for the documentation and everything to get finished. There are so many default behaviors and complex systems working behind the scenes, not having documentation can feel like hitting a brick wall sometimes.
