Summary

Hello I am having an issue with the collectible object not showing up when placed anymore. All of the original objects i placed are still there about 100ish, but after that they just not there when I load the map. Maybe there is something I am missing or not getting.
On my other project I was able to put as many as I needed and it was fine. This project I have many areas spread apart. The first area I did didn’t seem to have any problems
they all showed up. But then when I went to do other areas they don’t show up, even when I test it offline.

I tried to find out if there is a certain limit of how many you are able to put but that wouldn’t make sense because my other project has way more.
The other thing I maybe thought it could of been was the method in which i was placing the objects, but i tried placing other things that way and it showed up.
The last reason I was thinking it could be is because I spread stuff so far apart on the map? could this be an issue with collectible objects? Everything else seems to show up just find besides these.

Steps to Reproduce

I started with a premade island, built a little level, the the second level was started far form the location of the first. the original starting location the objects work but the other spots they are just not there at all.

Expected Result

I’m not super exact if this will replicate this because i’m not sure if its something i mistakenly did or changed in settings? or maybe the location of the objects.

Observed Result

not exactly sure why this is happen.

I’m very new to this, usually i don’t have a hard time finding info for problems. But i cant seem to find a reason this is happening. I can provide screenshot or any info that i missed please ask. Thank you.

I don’t think you’ve done anything wrong,
Maybe distance from origin, but if any are close to 0, 0 and doing the same thing it may not be that.
100 would be a sad limit for collectibles.
Maybe a limit has been his because of other devices.

Have you got any other bulk lot of devices ?
What settings on the collectible and do you have other devices event/functions linked to them?
How many players are you having ?
Are you streaming ?

Depending on your gameplay, may be a be able to turn them on and off or spawn the collectible based on where players are.

Can you tell me more about the distance of origin or what you mean by that? Because I started on one of the beach default maps and all the objects work that are placed within that original beach zone. Everything I spaced far from that are the ones not working. Is there a way to change this or maybe they just can’t be placed that far? Also I forgot to mention this is a lego map, if that changes anything.

As far as other devices go, I have 13 round settings device, 13 item granters, 5 hud device, rng device, 6 triggers, 4 timers, 5 cinematic, 3 round tracker, 3 end game, 5 accolade, probably around 40 barrier, 100 Bouce pad type thing not sure if these are a device. But I planned on adding a lot more. Not sure if this is a lot or not. And when i add more of any other devices those don’t seem to have a problem.

For these collectible they are only tied to accolade for exp. since this is like a race type thing its just like a secondary thing for ppl to grab as they run through not like a main thing. so if i couldn’t get this to work I was going to take it out i guess.

Ive also tried other ways of getting them to spawn through settings like on round start respawn for all and nothing. Or maybe theres a way I wasn’t thinking. But they should work considering the others work.

Ah, I haven’t had a go of lego mapping yet.

With origin, I mean’t centre of map location X,Y,Z as 0,0,0…I don’t even know if the terminology is UE, maybe I picked it up years ago.

Sounds like it is a distance thing now specific to collectible objects, that many devices should be all OK and not give you problems (for a regular fortnite map anyway)

I’m gonna add a vote because it could be something that needs attention/fixing for Lego mode.

Far apart is good with world streaming enabled, with the loading range and HLODs you can get away with a fair amount of detail.
But there has been a few issues like spawnpads not working, landscape tiles not letting players build.
I have got spawns successfully working at around 128000, from memory I think someone in a post had advised 160000 as a limit, but that’s for regular fortnite maps.
Lego building may have a whole different set of problems and limits though.

You could set up large volumes that do nothing but trigger the collectible objects to spawn on player entering zone event

Ok That’s what I thought you meant I just wanted to me be sure. But yea everything that seems to be having problems are the ones that are far from that center.

Now that you mention it, I think I had problems with the Trigger device still showing during gameplay (until i touch it once) then it works as intended. Only in the area not in origin. So I had to change how it worked using Mutator zones instead.

One thing I tried is Respawning and spawning the ones with a problem when entering mutator zone and it doesn’t seem to want to spawn them at all. And this is just the collectible device. Things like barrier device all work fine. Also I just added more to origin to double check its not a limit issue and they appeared just fine.

Yeah, definately needs attention for a future update, there doesn’t seem to be any other reason for it
