Summary

I have set “Allow building” to Traps only however am not able to pull out a Turret in my inventory, and it gives the can not build at this time thing.

Steps to Reproduce

Choose Traps Only in the Allow building setting and then give the player a trap

Expected Result

Player should be able to place/pull out the trap while not bieng able to build structures

Observed Result

Player can’t even pull out the trap

Still no update in 2025? Even the assistant can’t even help

FORT-969472 has been created and its status is ‘Unconfirmed’. This is now in a queue to be reproduced and confirmed.

Replicate:

  1. Start Fortnite on any platform.
  2. Start a creative match.
  3. Open the map.
  4. Go to the creative island settings tab.
  5. Go to player - build mode - allow building - change to “TRAPS ONLY”.
  6. Go to the creative content tab.
  7. Go to devices and search for the item spawner.
  8. Place the item spawner on the ground.
  9. Open the map, go to the creative content tab, click items on the left and obtain a trap.
  10. Place the tap in the item spawner by dropping it.
  11. Start the creative game.
  12. Pick up the trap from the item spawner and try to place it on anything.

You will notice you cannot switch to build mode to place a trap at all. This does not work with controller input, touch input, or keyboard and mouse input. It does work with keyboard and mouse input if you use “Y”, but not if you use “Q”.
