Translucent Sprite Materials have "holes" when Sprites are in motion

I’m having an issue where sprites with TranslucentUnlitSpriteMaterial or TranslucentLitSpriteMaterial will look fine when the sprites are standing still such as an idle, but as soon as the sprite is in motion, there are holes / tears in the sprites where you can see through them. It seems as if the parts that are becoming transparent are the darker colors of the sprite (close to black), but only while in motion.

Has anyone seen this before or have any idea what might be happening?
