I have a wire mesh object (chain link fence) that i`d like to have the appearance of a translucent mesh ie soft alpha in the mip maps to distance (masked is very noisy) but can still cast dynamic shadows.
I thought if perhaps you could have two objects, one with a translucent opacity for the visual and an exact copy with a mask opacity which would do the shadow casting but it would need to be hidden, and yet still cast a shadow.
Any ideas?
