So if I use raytraced refractions I have to turn window glass visibility off as sea water is just rendered black.
But now glass cups that are right over sea water also get rendered black, and I don’t know what to do except to use non RT refractions.
Am I missing some settings or translucent over translucent is currently not supported?
I really think this needs to be fixed asap as UE4 is used a lot in ArchViz and this is huge problem.
To answer myself after whole day of experimenting with translucent material options and various tricks…
I feel a bit silly now as problem was simply not having sea bottom modelled so cups glass was rendering black sky bottom or something like that was happening.
I have put simple large plane below the water surface, applied gray material and problem is gone - my glass finally looks nice.
