Translucent Material Unsubdivides Mesh

As you can see from below pictures my model normally has more polygons and a smooth surface. However when I apply any translucent material , engine automatically downgrades the model which results in a edgy lowpoly look. Any recommendations to fix that?


Was your mesh nanite? If it was nanite then what happened is that nanite fell back to the simplified proxy mesh for the model bc it would have been too expensive to render all that geo translucently. It’s a feature, not a bug, fix it by either making the mesh non-nanite or changing the amount of simplification the proxy mesh undergoes to retain 100% of the mesh detail.
