Translucency shadowing from stationary lights

messing with the elemental demo.
how exactly is this effect acheived.
Is there a specific static shadowing setting you toggle off/on and what particle is actually being used in that image?
is it the haze_shot_10 particle?

EDIT: never found it. cast translucent shadows. i thought its only for stationary lights?

It’s automatic, every stationary light generates a static shadow depth map from Lightmass when you build lighting and the light gets shadowed by it when applying to translucency. Note that it is pretty low resolution.

I don’t remember what the particles were in that screenshot, it was the one that’s in the ElementalDemo, I didn’t modify it except to move them around a bit.
