Transferring Maya Lattice Deformations to UE5 Safely (Walkthrough & Teaser)

Hello developers,

When building stylized assets, relying solely on linear joint weights isn’t always enough to get the look right. However, bringing complex lattice deformations from Maya into a real-time environment usually pushes teams toward heavy geometry caching.

At Bumpybox, we ran into this optimization bottleneck and spent some time developing a workflow that maintains the animation requirements cleanly inside Unreal Engine without the data bloat.

We have published two ways to look at this project depending on how deep you want to go:

Hopefully, this serves as a helpful reference for anyone working on highly stylized real-time characters!
