This plugin is harder to get into than Fight Club.
I have tried installing to both project and install plugins folder (Engine/Plugins/Experimental/Volumetric)
I tried installing from (master) UnrealEngine/Engine/Plugins/Experimental/Volumetrics/Source/Volumetrics/ github
I loaded up 4.25 and have ‘Volumetrics’ plugin checked which is supposed to be the shaderBits updated into 4.25? (I read that some where)
If anyone knows how I can get shaderBits running I would greatly appreciate I have no experience using github or compiling from source.
I apologize for my inexperience Im pretty new with Unreel but have a keen interest to learn about this plugin specifically.
If anyone can provide some step by step information on how to get this working, even point in the right direction link or video, would be greatly appreciated!
You dont need to compile engine or plugin from source. Just do the following:
Enable volumetrics plugin and restart editor.
In content browser, click View Options at bottom right, and make sure ‘show engine content’ and ‘show plugin content’ are ticked.
Now click root folder in top bar of content browser.
Scroll down and choose ‘Volumetrics Content’
Now you can navigate to some sample maps and load them. For example: Volumetric Content/Tools/VoxelizeMeshes/Maps/VoxelizeTestmap_StaticMesh
