Track Physical Laser In AR

Hello,

I am tinkering with the different AR functions available in Unreal 5.0.3. I am trying to find a solution, specifically I would like to detect and track the laser from a physical laser pointer that I am viewing through my Android device.

My very basic understanding is that the image tracking doesn’t really work on small objects and sure enough my experiments so far haven’t worked in picking up the laser. I have also tried looking at this from a computer vision point of view and don’t really see a way to read the pixels from the camera that are being used for AR.

I am a few days into looking at this and figured it might be worth it to reach out here and see if anyone had any thoughts or may have actually seen it done somewhere else that they could point me to.
