Hello,
I wanted to ask if this is a bug or something that can be made to work as it is currently stopping me from using Sequencer to record footage from my wip VR game.
Basically the Oculus Touch button/stick inputs seem blocked or turned off as soon as I enter recording mode.
I have another post here about it: Touch input blocked by Sequence Recorder? - XR Development - Epic Developer Community Forums
Would you be able to please take a look?
Regards
Hey Fredrum,
Just wanted to let you know that we’re looking into this. Our test lab with the touch controllers is in the process of being relocated. I’ll let you know if I have any updates.
Hey Fredrum,
We got the lab set up and tested this and here’s what we found:
From your description, it sounded like the animations on the hands weren’t playing DURING the recording process. In our testing, we saw them just fine while we were in VR Preview and recording.
However, we were unable to get any kind of playback of the animations we saw while recording. We have entered UE-36274 for this.
Let me know if that isn’t what you’re seeing though.
Hi ,
you are correct in that I didn’t see the button/grip movement during recording.
I just tried again and realised that this was because I didn’t have focus on the vr mirror window. I had focus on the editor window.
I tried again using my mouse to make sure focus was on the mirror window and then the Touch input got through to trigger the grip animation. Sorry my mistake!
BUT like you say the output ‘Recorded Sequence’ asset does not playback with the grip motion.
However, if you go into the Animations folder and double click on the just recorded animation assets you can see that grip motion seems to actually have been recorded there.
It is just not being applied in the Recorded Sequence.
