Thank you for reaching out, this will be expected behavior when working in media mode as you can edit the visual settings for the main scene and individual pieces of media separately. When in media mode, the scene's settings will be disabled so that you will only be able to edit the selected media's settings.
The Settings on the left will be used to adjust your scene's settings; when you are working with media you can instead select More to edit the settings that will be individually applied to the selected media. The Quit media mode button to the right can be used to return to editing the main scene's settings.
