To anyone who thinks the game being in EA is a good excuse:
If they released the modding tools, they should have been prepared to deal with any feedback, positive and negative. The whole **** point of EA is to look at the feedback and fix/improve the product. Deleting poor reviews and banning people on the forums for it is not even remotely professional, and that’s what they became the moment they started making money off this.
Also, I’m pretty sure the ADK was excessively advertised as a feature. In fact, they even created a modding contest with serious money at stake as bait to attract modders. We all know that mods are what keeps a game alive the longest, apart from MMO games the appeal of which I do not see. That said, the “balance” of this game is already that of a MMO - it starts off easy, becomes a bit of a grind later on, and turns into a ridiculous grind later on, when you need literally hundreds of processed materials to make anything (just processing which can take hours on end). And don’t even get me started on SotF.
I can understand wanting to see your game as a success. But a half-baked DevKit and ****** balancing are very much artificial ways to prolong its lifespan, which contribute nothing to the gameplay itself.
Technical issues and delays are perfectly acceptable in EA. Even in a fully released game, they are understandable.
However, the game has already sold over 2 million copies - without even being released. I think it’s about time they took a step back from marketing their product and put more effort into actually living up to the promises.
Nobody wants another WarZ.
