hi, there is a major bug in unreal 5.3 and 5.4, when you build a game for mobile android, and you run it, in the phone if you exit the app and return while keeping it running, the fps drops from 60 to 30, no matter WHAT, this happens on every project, even templates, simple templates, try it, build with the engine 5.3 or 5.4 any template, and run it on android, go to back ground, and go back in, slowly it drops to 30fps, i filed a bug, but they still havent fixed it in unreal 5.4, make hot fix or something, this is silly, breaking my game. i need to get publisher, how are they gonna look at me when i bring them game like that, PLEASE FIX THIS!
we need to fix this, NOWWWWWW! the universe, give me your ENERGY!!!
hah, cant believe i found the solution, the problem is Lumen on mobile, turn off lumen and turn on screen space lighting, turn all lumen off on mobile, its leaking, if you exit and reenter the app it destroys the app.
nvm it still occurs, wtf is this issue, the whole engine is beta version or something, why doesnt anyone test this before release, you big company, pretty obvious to do that.
man, unreal 6 better come out REAAAAAL soon, i definetly dont want to recreate an entire game on 5.0, this is just silly, i guess ive learned my lesson, start at 5.0 then scale it if need be.
ive im trying to partner to publish the game, their gonna deny me because of this flaw, maaaaaaaaan
good news, i was able to subdue the issue, by changing the lighting methods to i think ether none of screen space, then i set the fixed fps to 60, this allows me to keep things well, but issue still rises if i exit and reenter app, but it also fixes when i change levels, thankfully.
also changing the rendering thing from vulkan to opengl fixes issue to certain degree where it doesnt occur to same level, but it still persists, if person takes long enough.
more here:
Nope. You did not fix the issue. It will reappear sooner or later. i worked 18 hours today so i will take a break today. tommorw i will try to show you the soultion if i remember how i did it.
does it involve c++, cause i am not dealing with all those errors, aint no body got time for it
you know what. i think only i can fix this. KA ME! HA ME! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
nope. the game does not drop to 30, it is the terrible syncing the game does. and frame pacing. it try to smooth the game to 30fps so it stays at a stable frame rates rather than to go to 60fps and falcuate between 40 or 50 and 60.
how is that fix, the engine is got issues. i went back to 5.0 thank God, anything new that comes out, im definetly gonna consider it with grain of salt. 5.0 is good. despite the constant crashing.
i can also tell your a rookie. i just wanted to say that there are actually real professionals here doing the Lords work. so, yeah.
Cope
i choose hope. Jesus says, who’m ever believes in me, will have everlasting life.
