For selling, the character limit on long descriptions doesn’t appear to be accurate. It’s counting break lines and "&"s as 6 characters, as well as counting all the characters in an embedded hyperlink.
It’s a tiny detail but it’s been infuriating for me, requiring multiple rewrites of the description that, in MS Word, is only 1200 characters long 
If the count was more accurate it could mean better information in the descriptions for buyers.
