The snowballs dropped by the "Sneaky Snowman" do not function properly.

Summary

I first reported this bug two or three years ago, and have every year since, but the snowballs dropped by destroying the “Sneaky Snowman” consumable STILL do not function as intended.

This makes them unusable in any Winterfest-themed map, or any maps that utilize the method to change their static mesh (as shown in video 1 with the pumpkins).

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Place down an item spawner with the Sneaky Snowman item
  2. Start the game (make sure environment damage and pickaxe damage and weapon damage are ON)
  3. Throw down the snowman
  4. Pickaxe the snowman until it breaks and drops a snowball
  5. Pick up the snowball. Mess around with dropping and picking it up a few times and on different surfaces, i.e. player built structures.
  6. Try to throw the snowballs

Expected Result

The snowballs and snowman should function JUST as they did during Chapter 2 Season 1’s Winterfest (there’s plenty of videos out there showcasing them).

Observed Result

  • The snowball stops and explodes midair
  • Rather than setting down like it used to, when dropped, the snowball will laggily roll and damage any building piece or prop underneath it.
  • When picked up after being dropped, the snowball will be offset from the player at some random position in the air.
  • Prior to the issue with it exploding midair, the snowball would glitch around in the air with inconsistent velocity and hit nowhere near where you aimed.
  • The snowball no longer consistently destroys builds or hits players through them as it should.
  • The Sneaky Snowman takes far too long to recharge (close to a minute) when it once only took 20-25 seconds or so to recharge.
  • (Unconfirmed, I’ve only been told this) if environment damage is off, the snowman cannot be shot off of players.

Additional Notes

I’ve included a video showing how the snowballs are SUPPOSED to work. They’ve been broken on and off for years.
