Hi! I ran into an inadequate problem, which I still solved, and now I want to share my experience. If I only had this knowledge earlier, I would have saved more than a week of real working time (I’m serious). So, this is The problem of the form “Error: [Callstack] your hexadecimal number UnrealEditor-Core Object.dll !UnknownFunction []”. This happens when you try to make cooking and, accordingly, package too.

So, to fix this, you need:

  1. make a backup (copy) of the project (it is important)
  2. delete everything except the blueprints
  3. check if the cooking is working now (obviously not)
  4. delete all blueprints like function library - that was exactly my problem
  5. try to cook - if everything is OK, then you have the same problem as me, if not, then this method is not for you
  6. return to the state before step 4, but do not delete the function libraries
  7. by trials and errors, find any one bluprint of the function library type that does not allow you to cook a project (no matter how many of them cause an error, one must remain after deleting the rest)
  8. open this library and find a function (or functions!) in it that has the input parameter “World Context” - aka “__World Context”.
  9. Delete this input parameter
  10. Try to cook and hope

If it worked, then delete this “experimental project” and go back to the original copy. There you need to find all the same functions with an error.

Recommendations:

  1. make a backup after deleting all assets except blueprints - this will save time
  2. use the cooking option, not the packaging
  3. do not use Debug Game binary configuration - this will slow down the process (use Development)
  4. try to remember if you copied the functions in any library - in this case this TERRIBLE error appears
  5. double-check the problematic bluprint for additional errors (for example, there are other functions with such a problem)

Try to remove the “extra” folders from the project (I mean those that are restored themselves).
Also look for other solutions on this forum that may help you (they didn’t help me): checking all blueprints for compilation impossibility, imperceptibly-corrupted variables (perhaps use the free third-party plugin for this “RefreshAllNodes” - useful, by the way).

I’ve tried a lot of things and your advice too. Everyone has their own problem. Mine was decided like this. Who has not faced this horror will not understand… I hope you have not encountered.

oh ive been through my own stuff too, don’t worry. (imho) is not about not going through shtuff, is about coming out the other way.

This method is not “more reasonable”. It requires the use of C++ instead of blueprints, it requires the use of a debugger (this is time, space on the PC, extra knowledge, extra hassle, etc.). Moreover, the cause of the problem is not specified. This is not a solution at all, but a generalized case of correction that I have seen in many topics before. If you search, there are many exactly the same solutions on the Internet. But the main reason for dissatisfaction with this answer is its low and extremely vague wording. To summarize, this is not a solution to a specific problem or its causes, it is a single fix with a debugger.

This is the solution I was referring to. It does not require C++ or coding. I was able to fix all these errors pretty quickly doing this.

I managed to solve this problem in a very simple way that doesn’t require much technical knowledge, and it only takes a few minutes!

Steps:

  1. Install and open Notepad++.
  2. Click Search → Find in Files….
  3. Search for “NoneNone” (without quotation marks). Make sure that “In all sub-folders” is ticked. Choose your Content directory as directory, and/or the folder where your Blueprints are placed.
  4. The search procedure should find at least one Blueprint (.uasset) file with a match. Remove all object variables (including e.g., actor references, arrays, maps) in the corresponding Blueprint(s) WITHIN the editor (do not try to change the binary file, it will break things), and replace the variables with fresh ones (they can be of the exact same type). Save your Blueprint.
  5. Try packaging/building/cooking again. The problem should have been solved. If the problem still persists, try doing the same for all local variables in the matching Blueprint’s different functions.

Just go through the logs.txt found at path C:\Users[username]\AppData\Roaming\Unreal Engine\AutomationTool\Logs\C+ut+UE_5.4 and see which asset is causing error, exact function name and asset name is given in the log. go and correct it.
